Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 Software Bug on Android 2.3.3 & 2.3.4 unofficial release

There are some unoffical gingerbead (android 2.3.3 & 2.3.4) firmware on Samsung Galaxy Ace (S5830) leaked out and available on internet. I tried those firmware on a samsung galaxy ace which used to run on Android 2.2. I discovered there is a major WIFI bug on both 2.3.3 & 2.3.4.

With Android 2.3.3 firmware, I found I am not able / quickly disconnected from any WIFI network I am trying to connect to. With android 2.3.4 firmware, I can connect to the WIFI without problem, but within 2 hrs, my phone will crash and turns itself OFF. I can't turn it on by just pressing the power button. I have to remove the battery and put battery back in before I can power it on using the power button.

Base on my findings, I recommend to stay away from the samsung galaxy ace android 2.3.3 or 2.3.4 firmware until the bugs are fixed or wait till the offical release comes . I think it's why now, there is still no offical android gingerbead on samsung galaxy ace yet, but as we can see it's on the samsung unoffical developer web. I think the offical release will come very soon

There is a new 2.3.3 galaxy

There is a new 2.3.3 galaxy ace firmware released which eventually fixed the sleep of death (SOD) problem. Tested on galaxy ace which has the SOD problem before and it's now working fine on WIFI 3 days straight!
